Distorted Priorities is Rock band... OK, maybe a weird rock band. There are three-minute pop songs to instrumental-based songs running almost 10 minutes long, crossing over several stylistic boundaries. While there are a couple of well-known jazz-rock and fusion stars in the ranks, the primary focus of the band is to be accessible to the masses. All members are responsible for writing and arranging the music. Brian typically begins the process by writing a skeleton of a piece, then Dave and Rod rearrange everything and add musical interludes and jaw-dropping musicianship.  Joe came into the equation and everything is once again turned upside down, and the very unique Distorted Priorities sound is born. Truly a synergistic band effort from beginning to end.

The precursor for Distorted Priorities was Balance II, which was distributed worldwide through OIE Records. Balance II gathered amazing critics’ reviews and earned a loyal following of audiophiles and proggies enamored at the band's technical virtuosity and audio fidelity, thanks in no small part to Dr. Bryan Mitchell, who also tracked the basic tracks on Distorted Priorities.

Multi-instrumentalist virtuoso Mark Lessman played soprano, tenor and baritone saxophones and flute.

Brian - Past bands included Balance II (leader) with members Rod Morgenstein and Dave LaRue. Brian’s engineering resume includes working with the Steve Morse Band on Split Decisions, one of their recent masterpieces.


Joe was working with World Stage with Jim Peterik and singing on countless sessions. That was followed by a melodic rock masterpiece he co-wrote and co-produced: Mecca. Joe is currently working on Mecca II, with a who's who of some of the finest musicians in the history of recorded music.

Dave is at the top of most musician's favorite players lists - Dave brings experience in from working with legends, the Steve Morse band, Joe Satriani, John Petrucci, Mike Stern, and on and on....

Rod hails from Dixie Dregs, Dregs, Steve Morse Band, Winger - wickedly great overall musician, percussionist, human being and mime. When you hear Rod play drums, he doesn't play them, he becomes one with them.
